The Children's Hospital Center for Gait and Movement Analysis
Our Center for Gait and Movement Analysis (CGMA) is located on the lower level and can be accessed by the main elevators. The spacious CGMA lab features state-of-the-art equipment, specialized therapeutic procedures, training activities and comprehensive motion analysis —all in one location.
At the Gait Lab, shown here in yellow, we analyze muscle activity and limb and body movement, using the most advanced computer and video technology. Our equipment allows for faster, more accurate readings. It also allows us to analyze upper limb, torso and full-body movement patterns. The Training Room, shown here in blue, is equipped with a unique force-measuring treadmill. For the first time in Colorado, this machine allows specialized gait and movement training with partial limb unloading, physical or mechanical guidance and biofeedback.
Helping Kids Heal
One of only 40 gait centers in the U.S., The CGMA is located just 30 feet from the main elevator, making it easily accessible for patients with limited mobility. The space features separate bathrooms and changing areas equipped with lockers for patient use. Large exam and treatment rooms accommodate wheelchairs, walkers and assistive devices. The waiting area features state-of-the-art portals, which allow families to watch patients in the measurement area.
