Imaging services at The Children's Hospital Radiology department include general radiography, bone densitometry, Computed Tomography (CT) scanning, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), nuclear medicine, interventional procedures and ultrasound. With the installation of a cutting-edge diagnostic imaging tool at the new hospital, a Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Computed Tomography (CT) scanner, physicians can more accurately detect cancer and pinpoint its exact location in the body.
The Radiology team at The Children's Hospital works with special equipment designed just for children, making tests more comfortable for kids and also producing more accurate, reliable information. When necessary, conscious sedation can be substituted for general anesthesia depending on patient age and type of procedure. A significant expansion of prep and recovery room size at the new hospital will further meet the needs of staff, and patients and families during pre- or post-sedation.
Located in a convenient and accessible location adjacent to the Emergency Department (ED) and The Procedure Center, our team of board-certified and fellowship-trained pediatric radiologists will continually serve patients efficiently and expedite the flow of patients.
