Rates and Policies

Standard Rates

Hourly rate: $75 per hour
On-Call Coverage: $150 per night  (16 hours or less)
Weekend Coverage: $300 per weekend day and night  (17-24 hours)
In addition, hourly charges accrue if physician is called to the hospital or office during call coverage.
Placement Fee: $10/day
Travel: For any distance over 40 miles from The Children's Hospital, 40.5¢ per mile or the current IRS mileage rate.
Other Costs: Client pays the fees and assists with the application process for any hospital medical staff privileges that are required to perform requested duties. 

Additional Expenses

For locations requiring overnight accomodations
Travel: Airfare and car rental, or gas mileage
Lodging: Per Diem - $25 per day
Scheduling: There is a minimum charge for 8 hours for a scheduled day.  A half-day, morning or afternoon may be scheduled with a minimum charge of 4 hours.

Appointment scheduling should be adjusted if necessary to allow adequate time for the locum tenens physician to acquaint him/herself with the patient and the records.  As a general rule, our pediatricians should be allowed at least 15 minutes for a regular office visit and 20-30 minutes for a well child visit, depending on the age of the child.

Cancellations

Client may cancel any scheduled coverage and may be charged only the Placement Fee if 30 days or more notice is given.  If less than 30 days notice is given, there will be a cancellation fee equal to $100 per day times the number of days scheduled within the next 30 days.  If less than 7 days notice is given, the cancellation fee will be $200 per day times the number of days scheduled within the next week and $100 per day for the remaining days within the next 30 days.
