Children’s Favorite Books
from Shine Newsletter, Fall 2006
Going to the hospital — or even the doctor’s office or dentist — can be scary for anyone, especially your child. The best way to prepare your son or daughter for the visit is to talk about it in advance or even pretend by using toys. Reading a book about visiting the doctor also can be a great way to open a dialogue with your child. The following are some of Children’s doctors’ and nurses’ favorite books. You can always contact or stop by Children’s Family Health Library for additional books or trusted research about pediatric conditions or disorders. The library is located on the first floor of the main hospital, or phone 720-777-1234.
