Give a Child the Gift of Hope This Season

The holidays can be a particularly rough time for families with children in the hospital. At The Children's Hospital we do our best to lift our patient’s spirits during the holiday season and to make them feel welcome and comfortable year-round.

There are many ways you can help support The Children's Hospital and brighten the lives of our young patients and their families. The information below will help you find a wonderful way to make a difference this holiday season.

Make a donation

You can donate online any time to support The Children's Hospital. Also consider:

All year round, Children’s Association of Volunteers (AOV) accepts in-kind donations of toys and craft supplies – view the Children’s Wish List (.pdf) to see the kinds of donations are needed. 

Give blood, give life

Donating blood is a no-cost way to make a high impact donation. Donating blood does not cost money and requires little time. It does, however, make a big difference. There are several ways that you can give blood and several different types of donations you can make. Find out if you’re eligible to give blood and make an appointment to donate today!

Looking for the perfect holiday gift? Why not purchase one that benefits Children’s? Visit any Kohl’s department store to purchase holiday plush toys, books and CDs and 100% of your Kohl’s Cares for Kids® merchandise purchase comes back to Children’s!

14th Annual Blake Street Glass Ornament Extravaganza: December 12-13 and 19-20
Watch as ornaments are made by glass blowers at Blake Street Glass, 3433 Blake Street . A portion of the proceeds benefit The Children’s Hospital. 

Loving Care Gifts
Choose Loving Care Gifts when an ordinary gift won't do. Loving Care Gifts' artists are passionate about creating personalized works of art for you and your loved ones. Ten percent of sales benefit Children's.

Holiday cards that fight cancer
Each year, patients from Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders craft holiday designs that are transformed into holiday cards and sold between October and January. Proceeds from the sale of greeting cards help to fund a range of services and research at the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.

Help support Children's Miracle Network this holiday season by visiting the following corporate partners and purchasing a specialty icon:

2010 Firefighter’s Calendar
Fired Up For Kids donates a portion of its proceeds received from special events and the sales of the Colorado Firefighter Calendar to The Children’ Hospital Burn Center. Buy online, at the Tattered Cover LoDo and the Denver Firefighter Museum.

Enjoy a holiday event in the name of helping kids

Please note that events taking place at the hospital require participants to be 13 years and older, due to visiting restrictions in place. Thanks for keeping our patients healthy!

The Children's Hospital Harley Ride and Toy Run: Dec. 6
If you are a motorcycle enthusiast, The Children’s Hospital Toy Run is a fun way to brighten patient’s spirits this season. Thousands of motorcyclists are expected to deliver toys to patients at Children’s during the toy run on Sunday, Dec. 6 at 11 a.m. Riders will carry toys on their bikes and ride together to the hospital. Contact the Association of Volunteers for more information at 720-777-6887.

  • Starting location: Aurora Sports Park , located at Colfax and Dunkirk
  • End Location: The Children’s Hospital front entrance
  • Route: From Dunkirk, go west on Colfax, turn into Children’s Way and ride to the main entrance of the hospital

Snow Pile: donations due Dec. 16
Children’s annual Snow Pile event allows parents with kids in the hospital to “shop” for their children from a selection of donated gifts. If you would like to donate items to be available in time for our parents to choose gifts for their child to open on Christmas Day, we ask that you bring your donations to the hospital no later than December 16. Fore our Fathers second annual book drive and dinner: Dec. 12

Join the Fore Our Fathers families at The Tavern Tech Center, 5336 DTC Blvd , Greenwood Village, on Saturday, Dec. 12 to raise money to buy books for The Children’s Hospital Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. A $20 cover at the door includes a buffet dinner and books to be donated. Not hungry? Just a $10 cover at the door to will help buy books for patients at Children’s. Fore Our Fathers hosts an annual golf tournament to support cancer research at Children’s.

Skate for the Cure: Dec. 13

Hey, skaters! Join the Colorado Elite Ice Hockey Foundation’s players in an open skate, dollar-a-lap skate or a 1-mile (10 laps) or 5-person 5K team relay. A family skate with Santa follows. Skate for the Cure benefits Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.

Mini Cooper Car Cruise: Dec. 13
This Mini Car cruise and toy drive to benefit Children’s will be Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to noon. Load up your new toy donations in your Mini and drop by the hospital at the main entrance. Contact The Children's Hospital Association of Volunteers for more information at 720-777-6887.
