Child's scalding offers lesson for parents

9News and The Denver Post

May 7 and 8

Denver Post and Channel 9 ran a burn prevention story on May 7 and 8 about Anna Shyrock, now 21 months, who spent a week at Children’s recovering from second- and third-degree burns after she scalded herself in a bathroom sink. Maureen Andrews, clinical nurse specialist, with the burn and plastic surgery program, warned that “children, who have thinner, more delicate skin than adults, can be severely scalded by hot water directly from a tap in less than five seconds.”
