Hundreds of Local Motorcyclists Deliver Toys to The Children’s Hospital

The Children’s Hospital Harley Toy Ride is a long-standing Children’s tradition where motorcyclists travel together to the hospital, delivering armfuls of toys to brighten patients’ spirits for the holiday season. This year marked the 24th annual successful Toy Ride. (See our video coverage below.)

Along Colfax Avenue, an antique fire engine blasted its siren, leading a chorus of car horns behind it. You could hear Santa’s caravan coming before you could see it. The crowd gathered outside The Children’s Hospital cheered and clapped on tiptoe. Children gathered at hospital windows, pressed to the glass, eagerly watching as Santa and his elves arrived.

Flashing its lights and tooting its siren, the lead engine announced its arrival as it turned onto Children’s Way. Santa Claus sat up front and a group of bearded men waved from the back of the engine. Behind it paraded fire engines, police cars, three-wheelers, and cars.
