  • Concussion Care September 1, 2010 A recent report suggests that kids who suffer from a concussion should be checked by a doctor before returning to sport activities. Parents and coaches should be aware that young athletes take longer to recover than college and professional athletes. Dr. Michael Kirkwood, pediatric neuropsychologist, gives his expert advice regaridng concussion tips.
  • Heart Transplant Patient’s Dream Comes True August 27, 2010 Nine-year-old Karina Valverde has had two heart transplants during her short life. After her second transplant here at Children's, she was granted a wish from the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
  • Camp Conquer August 27, 2010 Since 1983, the The Children’s Hospital Burn Camp has been helping burn patients across the country take steps toward recovery and confidence. This year, 84 campers and more than 20 counselors and staff gathered at the Cheley camp site in Estes Park
  • Heart Transplant Brings Quality of Life to Young Gabriel August 23, 2010 Lisa Basquez was 21 weeks pregnant with her first son, Gabriel, when she learned he had a life-threatening heart condition. Little Gabriel lives today thanks to a team of experts from The Children’s Hospital who gave Gabriel a new heart, and gave his mom the will to fight for it.
