Common Heart Tests at The Children’s Hospital

Doctors can use many different tests to diagnose possible heart problems in children. These tests are also often used on an ongoing basis in your child’s follow-up care and serve as a foundation in the excellent heart care provided at The Children’s Hospital.

As a cardiac patient, your child will undoubtedly experience one or more heart tests provided by The Children’s Hospital. As a parent, it is important for you to know that our doctors, nurses and technicians are specially trained to explain these procedures to your child and help him feel as comfortable as possible during their tests. Our equipment is designed to fit the various sizes of the children we treat. This means our testing is accurate and as comfortable as possible.

The most difficult part of managing your child’s health can be dealing with the unknown. Take some of the worry out of your child’s heart tests by learning more about each test and what you should expect. This will help you better prepare yourself and your child, making the procedures as easy as possible.
