Diabetes, Endocrine, Growth and Metabolism Conditions We Treat

We offer a full range of diagnostic, treatment and consulting services, just for children. That's important because the symptoms that present themselves in a child may be very different from those in an adult with the same endocrine-related disorder.  Hormonal disorders can often be difficult to detect and treat in children and adolescents. Pediatric endocrinologists at The Children's Hospital are experts in a wide range of hormonal problems in young people. In addition, we work with a variety of other pediatric specialists in order to provide a multidisciplinary plan of care to meet the specific needs of each and every child who comes to us. Working with your child's pediatrician, we can devise an individualized treatment plan for your child or teen.

Comprehensive Diabetes Care

Diabetes is a disease in which the body does not produce or properly use insulin. Insulin is a hormone that is needed to convert sugar, starches and other food into energy needed for daily life. Children and teens with diabetes receive care at The Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes. There, pediatric diabetes experts provide holistic, family-centered care for children with diabetes. The multidisciplinary care team can devise plans to manage diabetes, which may include dietary changes, exercise, medicine, and weight loss.
