The Children’s Hospital Dental Center
Dental hygiene and dental care are concerns for everyone, even the very healthy. Dental care can be part of a child’s daily routine with regular checkups at the dentist, but it can also be a more serious concern.
Why Choose The Children’s Hospital?
Kids are not just small adults, and that is why it is important that they have a dental experience designed for kids, one that is not scary and as pain-free as possible.
The dental experts at The Children’s Hospital spend all of their time working with young children and young adults, providing the most positive experience possible while at the dentist.
For more serious dental care including anesthesia and surgery, you are in good hands with experts skilled in how anesthesia, medications and surgery can affect smaller bodies.
In conjunction with University of Colorado Denver School of Dental Medicine, The Children's Hospital operates the Healthy Smiles Dental Clinic, a large and innovative regional pediatric dental clinic for children who have limited access to dental care. Starting in July 2008, this clinic will be housed in the east side of The Children's Hospital Dental Center building.

Dental Emergencies
The Children's Hospital Dental Center is open for walk-in emergency care weekdays from 8-10 a.m.
After-hours dental emergency services are provided seven days a week, 365 days a year through The Children's Hospital’s Emergency Department.
Only toothaches with swelling and/or bleeding as well as physical trauma to the teeth and/or face are considered dental emergencies. Any other condition or situation (e.g., minor toothache, broken or lost fillings) is not considered an emergency and requires a scheduled appointment. We will triage emergencies and take the most severe or significant first.
