Current Clinical Trials

Physicians and scientists in each of the clinical programs within The Children’s Hospital Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders are actively engaged in research to increase our understanding of pediatric cancers and blood disorders and to improve the treatments available. As a principal member of the Children’s Oncology Group, the Center actively participates in the latest treatment protocols and collaborative research designed to improve our understanding of cancer and blood disorders, as well as their treatment and cure.

Open Cancer Trials

• The Experimental Therapeutics Program conducts Phase I, Ib, and II trials sponsored by the National Cancer Institute and a number of pharmaceutical companies.  This group also enrolls patients in investigator-initiated protocols and studies developed by the Pediatric Oncology Experimental Therapeutic Investigators Consortium.
• The Bone Marrow Transplant Program carries out numerous local studies and participates nationally in a host of studies aimed at improving the outcomes of transplant for cancer and blood disorders. The Program has made notable contributions in the areas of allogeneic cord blood transplantation, high-dose chemotherapy with autologous transplant for high-risk brain tumors and supportive care.
• The Children’s Hospital Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders has more than 100 open clinical trials available for most cancers and blood disorders that are seen in children, adolescents and young adults.
