It’s a time of transition at The Children’s Hospital, and we understand you may have questions about how to find us, access care and obtain further information. We hope you find the FAQs below helpful.
When did The new Children’s Hospital open?
The new Children’s Hospital opened September 29, 2007. The old location at East 19th Avenue and Ogden Street in downtown Denver closed at that time, and 111 inpatients were safely transfered to the new hospital.
How do I drive to the new hospital?
The new Children’s Hospital is located near the intersection of I-225 and East Colfax Avenue, about eight miles east of the old hospital. The street address is 13123 East 16th Avenue, Aurora, CO 80045. Print out driving directions or use Mapquest to find your way here.
Where do I park at the new hospital?
From East Colfax Avenue, turn north on Children's Way or Ursula Street and look for dedicated parking for The Children's Hospital.
Patients, families and visitors will find ample parking in our new parking garage (Lot #1), just south of the main entrances to the hospital and outpatient pavilion. For patients and families receiving emergency services, there are clearly identified lots west of the emergency department entrance (Lot #3). Garage parking is also available on the east end of our new campus for patients, families and visitors to our Behavioral Health Sciences services in our East Pavilion (Lot #8).
Parking is free for patients and parents, and $2 for visitors. The Patient and Visitor Parking is open 24-hours daily, and you may enter the main entrance to the hospital 24-hours a day. Families needing assistance from the parking garage to the main entrance, Emergency Department or Blood Donor Center can use our Kids’ Kart shuttle service.
Valet parking is available 24/7 at the Emergency Department entrance for emergency visits, and from 6 am to 10 pm at the main entrance to the hospital and outpatient pavilion for all other visits.

Where is my appointment?
The old Children's Hospital on East 19th Avenue is now closed. Clinics, emergency care and other hospital services are fully operational on the new campus.
The Children’s Hospital at Saint Joseph Hospital, located four blocks east of the old Children’s Hospital on the northeast corner of Franklin Street and 18th Avenue, also offers 24/7 emergency care and inpatient admissions for patients in the downtown Denver area.
